Class 4.2 - Spontaneously Combustible - 30074
This Class 4.2 - Substances liable to to spontaneous combustion sign/placard is used to warn of potentially hazardous materials in transit. Class 4.2 contains substances liable to spontaneous combustion. Substances (solids and liquids) which are liable to spontaneous heating under normal conditions encountered in transport, or to heating up in contact with air, and being then liable to ignite and catch fire (e.g. phosphorus).
If the warning diamond is being posted on a background which does not provide a contrasting colour with the sign, for example a red diamond on a red background, the dotted boundary alternative must be used - 5.2.2.2.1.1 ADR (European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) applicable from January 2011).
