Class 6.2 - Infectious Substances - 30112
This Class 6.2 Infectious Substances Sign/Placard is used to warn of potentially hazardous materials in transit. Class 6.2 contains substances known or reasonably expected to contain pathogens. Pathogens are defined as micro-organisms (including bacteria, viruses, rickettsiae, parasites, fungi) and other agents such as prions, which can cause disease in humans or animals. These may include medical specimens and clinical waste from medical centres, hospitals and dental practices.
If the warning diamond is being posted on a background which does not provide a contrasting colour with the sign, for example a white diamond on a white background, the dotted boundary alternative must be used - 5.2.2.2.1.1 ADR (European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) applicable from January 2011).
